I've mentioned my chukars before, but I've never managed to have my camera close while they've wandered the yard. Today we had 14 or 15 hanging out on the back patio. Man, they're cute. The kids and I watched them and took pictures as they walked around exploring.

They are a cute little bird on the screen, but birds and I don't get along in the least--unless they are mild mannered Quail. If the Chukars are like Quail then they are very cute!
Gaylene, they're just like big quail, and they have stolen my heart. I love their calls and the way they run around in a big group. Super cute. You'd like them, too.

That little guy made me so happy. And it reminded me of a time when I wanted a quail for a pet. I don't think that really works as a pet, but I was young. I just think they add instant happiness to a home when they run past it in their little families. Sigh.
